Nusa Penida is the largest of the Nusa Islands, off the southeastern coast. This island offers clear waters and pristine white sand beaches. The best part? You will find some of the purest, aqua-blue water here for your spellbinding shots. 

Best time to visit: Definitely the sunrise or the sunset.

2. Ulun Danu Temple, Beratan Lake

Located in Bali’s mountain area, Ulun Danu is a floating temple at Beratan Lake and one of the best pre-wedding spots in Bali. Beratan Lake offers a beautiful landscape view, perfect for getting those magical shots clicked with your partner. Adding to its beauty, you can also hire a boat for some romantic moments to be captured. 

Best time to visit: The best time to shoot at Beratan Lake would be at sunrise, around 6 a.m. Note that it is a good 2-hour drive from Denpasar. Hence, plan your shoot accordingly. 

What to wear: The best part is that any colour outfit would go with this location. So, bring the best dresses from your wardrobe. 

Entrance fee: The majority of Bali’s iconic pre-wedding photoshoot locations charge an entrance fee. The entrance fee at Beratan Lake is IDR 75.000 per person.

3. Mangrove forest 

The second on the list is the Mangrove forest. Located in southern Bali, 7.7 km from the Denpasar airport, this location provides an ideal setting for a romantic pre-wedding photoshoot. This spot has a wooden path that is 1.4km long. If you are looking for a serene backdrop with lush greenery, this might just be the place for you. 

Best time to visit: The best time to visit this location is during the day, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. 

What to wear: Casual outfits would be a good pick for this location. A cute white dress with a flower tiara would do wonders! Avoid outfits in green.  

Entrance fee: IDR 520.000 per person.

4. Benoa 

If you are planning to rent a yacht or go underwater for your pre wedding shoot, then this is the place for you. Benoa offers a lot of beaches and water activities. 

Best time: Take advantage of the golden hour, around 4 p.m., if you are planning to rent a yacht.

What to wear: Long gowns paired with formal suits will look just wow!

Fee: Scuba diving will cost you around Rs. 10,000 per couple.

5. Batur Mountain Area

If you wish for a misty and dreamy photoshoot, the Batur mountain area is where you need to plan your pre-wedding shoot. It is located in the northeastern part of the island and is a part of the UNESCO Global Geopark. The black lava that lies on the caldera of Mount Batur makes this place unique and is perfect for adventurous couples who want to add some thrill and freshness to their pre-wedding photo shoot. 

Best time to visit: Sunrise, at 6 a.m., would be the ideal time. 

What to wear: Anything bright, white, and formal would complement the black lava. Avoid dark colours. 

Entrance fee: There is no fee per se. However, the officials or residents of Batur might charge around IDR 300.000 for a photoshoot. 

6. Mengening Beach

Want to escape the same old white sands? Offering black sand, coral rocks, and clear water, Mengening Beach in Canggu village is just the right choice for you. 

Best time to visit: Catch the golden hour to add magic to your pre-wedding photos. Anytime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. is just perfect.  

What to wear: Go for casuals and flowy dresses.

7. Tukad Cepung Waterfall

Tukad Cepung Waterfall is located in Bangli Regency and is a one-hour trip from Denpasar. The waterfall is surrounded by cliffs, making it difficult to locate. You will have to walk down some stairs to find the river bank. Come here on a sunny morning to catch the sun’s rays peeping through the cliffs, illuminating your pre-wedding shots. 

Best time to visit: In the morning, around 9-10 a.m.

What to wear: Go for casual, floral, and flowy dresses.

Entrance fee: The entrance fee is IDR 15.000 per person. 

8. Hideaway Swing

Located in the Zen hideaway, Ubud, this is one of the most famous swings in Bali. This picturesque swing can be found in Bongkasa, which soars above a lush palm tree forest and the Ayung River. 

Best time to visit: The swing opening hours at Zen Hideaway are from 12 to 2 pm, and as it is also an Air BnB home, you are welcome to hang out there during those hours.

What to wear: Casual outfits or flowy dresses should be your pick

Entrance fee: To get access to the property and to swing, you must pay the housekeeper on the property 300.000 IDR per person.

9. Urban Air – helicopter ride 

Want to elevate your pre-wedding photographs a bit? The helicopter rides at Urban Air can help you with this. Give a unique and adventurous look to your photographs by adding the helicopter as your backdrop.

Best time: plan for the 3 p.m. slot.

Fee: Rs. 40K

10. Tamblingan Lake 

Tamblingan Lake is situated in the Bedugul region on a plateau surrounded by lush hills. It is located next to Buyan Lake. Hence the two lakes are known as Bali Twin Lake. This lake offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. To add dramatic elements to your pre-wedding shoot, traditional canoes can also be rented. Tamblingan Lake is highly recommended for people who like to get away from mainstream photo locations. 

Best time to visit: 6 a.m. is the best time if you want to capture misty romantic pictures.

What to wear: Semi-formal or casual dresses would be a good option for Tamblingan Lake.

11. Padang Padang Beach

Padang Padang Beach is located at Jalan Labuan Sait in Pecatu Village, South West of Bali island. Padang Padang is another great location if you want white sand and clear blue water as your backdrop. 

Best time to visit: Sunset, reach there around 4 p.m.

What to wear: Go for casual, floral, and flowy dresses.

12. Sawangan Beach 

Sawangan Beach at Nusa Dua is located behind the Bali Nusa Dua Hilton Hotel. This is another beautiful backdrop for beach lovers. 

Best time: You’ll get the best photos during sunrise, so reach there by 6 a.m.

What to wear: Go for summer dresses to add to the beach look.
