ABOUT THE LOCATION

Nalagarh Fort was center of the dominion of Hinddur founded by Raja Ajai Chand in 1100 A.D. It was under the rule of the Chandela Rajputs. The Chandela kings were great supporters of art and architecture. Raja Ram Chander, another eminent ruler of the same dynasty, was also a great builder who constructed the Ramgarh Fort (Now renamed as Ramshehar heritage fort resort in Himachal by the present occupants) and the town of Ramshere in 1540 AD.

Raja Vijayendra is the present honorary head of state of Nalagarh. The Nalagarh Fort Resort has a chain of structures that are mostly built in the Mughal style of architecture but elements of Hindu and even the British design cannot be overlooked. The Nalagarh Fort is located on a hillock at the bases of the massive Himalayas giving a magnificent panoramic view of the Shivalik Hills beyond the Sirsa River.

Whenever we hear Rajputs we think of rajasthan and central India, but north India also has had a rich royal heritage and the forts and palaces built may not be as lavish and extravagant as their counterparts downwards, but in no way are they any less grand. Built in the lap of Himalayas, the fort will break stereotypes and give you a fresh perspective of the rajputs in India.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE DECIDING

POINTS NOT IN FAVOUR

1. Out of the city location

If you want the pre-wedding shoot location to be the Nalagarh Fort Resort you have to travel to Himachal Pradesh. The traveling makes it a long tiring process. Plus the shoot might take a whole day and should ideally begin from the morning, a day or two will be given to the travelling and resting.

2. No Privacy

IThe shoot is mainly done in the common areas, like entrance, main building courtyard, lawns which makes it open for all. You can coordinate with the hotel team for closing of spaces for your photoshoot but arrangements for the same would have to be made prior to the day.

3. Non availability of Props

IThe place is not near a metropolitan city so sourcing out of the box props would be difficult at the last moment. Though the couple can carry smaller props if they really want to and give the information about it to the Palace team prior the shoot.
